A Journey Through the Lee Collection: Supercars and Automotive Excellence
Nestled in the heart of Perth, Western Australia, lies a secret haven for automotive enthusiasts – the Lee Collection, owned by self-made billionaire Laurence Escalante.
As the founder and CEO of Virtual Gaming Worlds (VGW), Escalante began amassing the bulk of his cars during the COVID pandemic. Today, the collection stands at around 120 vehicles, according to Carbuzz.com.
Walking into the collection is akin to stepping into a curated museum of automotive history. Gleaming chrome and vibrant paintwork reflect the meticulous care and attention given to each vehicle. From the iconic lines of a classic Ferrari to the futuristic curves of a modern McLaren, every car tells a story, rich with tales of speed, innovation, and the human fascination with the open road.
One of the collection's crown jewels is the recently-delivered Bugatti Chiron Supersport. The Super Sport boasts a powerful 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine that produces a staggering 1,600 horsepower. This translates to breathtaking acceleration and a top speed of 489 km/h, making it one of the fastest cars in the world.
Currently, this is the only Chiron Supersport in the entire country.
Another recent addition to the collection is the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR PRO. Taking the already-impressive Valkyrie to the extreme, the AMR Pro is a track-only beast. The absolute legends at Aston Martin made the bold decision to power the Valkyrie with a NATURALLY ASPIRATED (!!) 6.5-litre V12 engine, developed in Collaboration with Cosworth. Producing a ridiculous 1,140 horsepower, this is one of the most powerful naturally aspirated engines ever built.
On top of this ridiculousness, the AMR Pro was limited to an invite-only production run of only 25 models. Each car is hand-built by Aston Martin and is tailored to the individual owner's specifications.
Because one track-only hypercar isn't enough, the Lee Collection also houses a Ferrari FXX K Evo. The Evo was developed by Ferrari's Corse Clienti program, which is dedicated to building and supporting track-only cars for their most passionate customers. The FXX K Evo was designed to be the ultimate track car, incorporating the latest technology and engineering advancements.
There are wayyy too many cars in this collection to go in-depth on each one, but rest-assured, EVERY car in this collection is very special.
A few notable standouts not mentioned above are:
- 'Bussink' AMG GT Speedlegend
- Custom-built Mercedes SLR McLaren HDK
- Lamborghini Essenza SCV12
- 'Mansory Vivere' Bugatti Veyron
- McLaren Senna GTR XP
- McLaren Elva
- And many, many more...
In typical Escalante fashion, he has no plans on slowing down, with plenty more one-off hypercars and supercars on order, including the hyper-rare Bugatti Bolide!
It also needs to be mentioned that although this collection is massive, all of the cars are driven - something which is rare amongst modern car collections.
In addition to showcasing their wide array of supercars, the Lee Collection also plays an active role in the automotive community. They regularly host events and gatherings for car enthusiasts, providing a space for people to share their passion for all things automotive.
This commitment to community building further underscores the Lee Collection's dedication to fostering a love of cars and creating lasting memories.
